How can I become an Intern?


“The Gathering at Viridian” in Arlington, Texas is currently offering opportunities for a semester or year long youth internship program to those who have the capacity and passion to serve and grow beyond their regular commitments of work or school.

During your time here you will develop leadership and ministry skills by serving in multiple areas of local mission, ministry in schools and in our youth group.

At The Gathering, we hold a strong belief in empowering people to discover who God has created them to be and live out their Kingdom calling.

 

Requirements:

  • The Youth Intern should not only see themselves as a spiritual mentor for teenagers, but as a living example of what a Christian life should be. The Youth Intern will be expected to demonstrate the highest level of integrity at all times.
  • The Youth Intern must have completed their Sophomore year in college.
  • The Youth Intern should have access to some form of personal transportation.
  • The Youth Intern will be subject to a background check.

Objective:

  • The Youth Intern will serve, lead, teach, mentor, and motivate the youth of The Gathering in their walk with God.
  • The Youth Intern will engage in practical experiences in all areas of Youth
  • The Youth Intern will create space for youth to connect with God, adults, and other teens within the church and in the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Camp(s), Mission Trip, and other events planned by the Youth Pastor and/or pastoral staff.
  • Attend church at The Gathering on Sunday mornings and assist with Youth Ministry.
  • Lead both formal and informal activities that are designed to help our teens grow spiritually.
  • Attend staff meetings/planning sessions.
  • Other duties as required.

Compensation:

  • The Youth Ministry Internship is a part-time, 10-hours per week position designed to aid in the spiritual and professional development of the intern. Specific start/end dates will be determined after the intern is hired.
  • The Youth Ministry Intern will be paid a small stipend of $200 per month. Expenses related to this position (e.g. travel, registration fees, etc.) will be covered.
  • Housing will be provided, if needed, in the home of a family in the Viridian community.
